Laser Therapy

Photobiomodulation through therapeutic laser delivers specific wavelengths of light energy directly into damaged or inflamed tissues. This light energy is absorbed by chromophores within your cells—primarily cytochrome c oxidase in the mitochondria—triggering a cascade of biological effects that reduce inflammation, relieve pain, and accelerate the healing process.

Our Laser Technology

Class IV High-Power Laser

Delivers therapeutic doses rapidly to deep tissues including joints, discs, and large muscle groups. Power
output above 500mW allows treatment of conditions that lower-powered lasers cannot effectively reach.

Class 3B Lasers

Precision instruments for treating superficial conditions, acupuncture points, and sensitive areas where lower
power density is appropriate. Ideal for wound healing, neuropathy, and facial treatments.

The Science of Light Therapy

When photons of specific wavelengths (typically in the red and near-infrared spectrum of 630 to 1000
nanometers) penetrate tissue, they’re absorbed by light-sensitive molecules called chromophores.
The primary target is cytochrome c oxidase, a key enzyme in the mitochondrial electron transport
chain. This absorption increases ATP (cellular energy) production, modulates reactive oxygen
species, and triggers signaling pathways that reduce inflammation and promote tissue repair.

The result is a fundamental improvement in how your cells function—more energy for repair
processes, reduced inflammatory mediators, and enhanced circulation to bring nutrients to damaged
areas.

What to Expect

Laser therapy is completely non-invasive and painless. During treatment, you may feel a gentle warmth as the light energy penetrates your tissues. Sessions typically last 5 to 15 minutes depending on the size of the treatment area and the condition being addressed. Many patients experience noticeable improvement after just one or two sessions, though a series of treatments usually produces the most lasting results.

There is no downtime after laser therapy—you can immediately return to your normal activities. The treatment works synergistically with chiropractic adjustments, often enhancing and extending the benefits of manual therapy.
